News: Hit-and-run driver sought after crashing into Crabtree garage

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA — Major property damage was reported Saturday night after a driver crashed into a residential garage in Crabtree, according to WTAE.

The incident occurred on a private property located at 44 Middle Row, off U.S. Route 119. It was reported shortly after 10:00 p.m.

An early investigation indicates a driver in a large vehicle slammed into the garage and fled in the opposite direction. Police were able to follow the vehicle’s tracks for about 100 yards to Route 119. A fence and multiple fence posts in the area were found knocked down, and wooden steps to a nearby home and part of a tree had also been destroyed.

The ceiling of the impacted garage had collapsed and its walls broken. Two vehicles and various items in the structure also sustained severe damage.

At this time, police continue to search for surveillance footage of the suspect vehicle. No description has been released to the public at this time.

An investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police at the Greensburg barracks remains in progress.
