News: Woman injured by hit-and-run driver at Pittsburgh gas station

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A woman was critically hurt early Monday when she was hit by a car in a north Pittsburgh gas station, according to WPXI.

The incident occurred at the Sunoco gas station located at 310 Cedar Avenue, in the East Allegheny neighborhood. Pittsburgh Police responded to the scene shortly before 3:20 a.m.

A 911 caller told dispatchers a car had struck the woman as it was leaving the parking lot and did not stop after the contact.

Responding officers were able to communicate with the victim, who complained of pain but was unaware of what happened. She was rushed to a local hospital in stable condition and was later listed as critical.

Further investigation led to the arrest of a 41-year-old suspect, who was identified by a witness. He now faces several charges, including “recklessly endangering another person, careless driving, and reckless driving.”
