News: Man dies after hit-and-run crash on PA-8 in NE Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, PA — A 66-year-old man died late Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Route 8 in Pittsburgh’s Point Breeze area, according to WTAE.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Penn Avenue and Carnegie Place, shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Few details have been disclosed, but Pittsburgh Police said the victim was hit by a driver in a green Honda minivan.
The vehicle, believed to have sustained front-end damage, fled the scene before authorities arrived.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office has since identified the victim as Freeman Holeman.
On Wednesday morning, the suspect vehicle appeared to have been located. A search warrant was in the process of being obtained.
