News: 2 sent to hospital after multi-vehicle wreck in Pittsburgh’s South Shore
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Two people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a multi-vehicle crash in Pittsburgh’s South Shore neighborhood, reports WPXI.
Witnesses reported the incident on West Carson Street at around 3:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicates a man on a motorcycle was swerving in and out of traffic when he caused two vehicles to collide head-on. The motorcyclist, who failed to stop and render aid, was seen fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.
As a result of the initial crash, a third vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed through a fence. It then fell a number of feet before landing on the parking lot below.
First responders rushed two patients by ambulance to an area hospital. At this time, the severity of their conditions has not been disclosed.
Pittsburgh Police continues to investigate and search for the fleeing motorcyclist.
