News: Multiple hurt as car, PRT bus collide head-on in Pittsburgh’s North Side

PITTSBURGH, PA — At least five people were sent to a hospital Wednesday morning after a crash involving a PRT bus in Pittsburgh’s North Side, reports WPXI.

The accident happened near Cedar Avenue and Suismon Street, in the city’s East Allegheny (Deutschtown) neighborhood. It was first reported at about 10:00 a.m.

According to a Pittsburgh Regional Transit spokesperson, a car veered past the center line and collided head-on with the PRT bus.

Officials said the driver of the car was left unconscious but was still breathing following the crash.

The bus driver and their three passengers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Photos taken at the scene show major damage to the car and minor damage to the bus.

Authorities have not shared a possible cause of the crash.
