Driver cited after big rig rolls, nearly falls off I-79 in South Strabane Township
WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — A driver was cited Wednesday night after his tractor-trailer overturned and was left dangling off Interstate 79 in South Strabane Township, reports WTAE.
The accident occurred on the northbound lanes over Interstate 70. South Strabane Township firefighters were dispatched to the area just after 3:45 p.m.
Few details have been released, but Pennsylvania State Police said the driver failed to negotiate the left turn at mile marker 34. At one point, the big rig overturned.
Though the victim received treatment at the scene, he declined transport to a hospital. He received a citation for his role in the crash.
All southbound lanes were blocked during the emergency response. Crews were later able to get the tractor-trailer back onto its wheels and reopen all lanes.
