News: 1 dead, 2 left injured after crash on PA-844 in Independence
WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — A 58-year-old Avella resident died Wednesday afternoon after a crash that hurt two others in Independence Township, reports WTAE.
The Washington County coroner said the fatal wreck occurred near the 400 block of Pennsylvania Highway 844, or Washington Pike. It was first reported at about 4:10 p.m.
The circumstances of the accident remain unclear, but two vehicles were involved. Two people were rushed by helicopter to Pittsburgh hospitals and another was transported to an area hospital.
At this time, Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate.
