News: 1 hospitalized after fiery tow truck crash in Pittsburgh’s Hays area
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — One person was sent to a hospital Saturday evening after a tow truck collision in Pittsburgh’s Hays neighborhood, reports WPXI.
Local police, firefighters and medics responded to the scene on Glass Run Road, near Glenwood Bridge. Dispatchers first reported the incident shortly before 8:30 p.m.
It was unclear what caused the crash, but a vehicle struck the gas tank of a tow truck, causing the truck to catch fire.
One person was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. No updates on their condition have been shared at this time.
By 9:30 p.m., fire crews had the flames and the scene controlled.
No pending charges or citations have been reported as of this writing.
