News: 2 hurt as PRT bus hit by semi on McKnight Rd in Ross Township
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Two people were hospitalized Monday morning after a crash involving a Pittsburgh Regional Transit bus in Ross Township, reports WPXI.
The accident impacted the inbound lanes of McKnight Road heading toward Parkway North (Interstate 279). It was first reported shortly before 6:00 a.m.
Officials have not said what caused the wreck, but a box truck and the PRT bus collided near a bus stop in the Intown Suites area.
Photos taken at the scene show damage to the bus’ rear side and extensive damage to the cab of the semi.
By 8:00 a.m., crews had cleared the scene from the roadway. At this time, the severity of the patient’s injuries remain unknown, and it was unclear whether they were occupants of the bus or the semi.
