News: 2 seriously hurt in crash with big rig on US-22 near Murrysville
WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA — Two women were seriously hurt Tuesday in a wreck involving a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 22 near Murrysville, reports WPXI.
The accident happened near the intersection with Harrison City Road shortly after 10:00 a.m.
According to the Murrysville Police Department, the tractor-trailer was heading eastbound on Route 22 at the same time another vehicle was traveling on Harrison City Road. At one point, the vehicle appeared to cross the intersection or make a turn, leading to a crash.
First responders had to extricate one woman who was trapped in the wreckage of the passenger vehicle. That patient and another female occupant were rushed to Forbes Hospital with serious injuries. No updates on their conditions have been released.
An investigation into the cause of the wreck remains ongoing.
