News: 2 students sent to hospital after transport van crash in Redstone Township
FAYETTE COUNTY, PA — Two students were hospitalized Monday after a crash involving a school transport van and an SUV in Redstone Township, reports CBS Pittsburgh.
The accident happened on Merrittstown Road, near the unincorporated community of Merrittstown. It was first reported by CBS at 5:24 p.m.
It remains unclear what led up to the wreck, but a number of students were riding in a Brownsville Area School District transport van when it collided with an SUV. The impact caused the SUV to flip onto its roof.
Two children from the van were taken to a local hospital. Authorities have not disclosed the extent of their injuries.
A report from WTAE indicates a female occupant in the overturned vehicle was also transported to a hospital. No updates on her condition have been released. The patient’s sister said the patient’s boyfriend and her young son were also occupants in the SUV.
Redstone Township Police have not shared further information at this time.
