News: 4 hospitalized after vehicle hits pump at East Pittsburgh gas station
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Four people were sent to a hospital early Monday after a single-car crash at a Sunoco gas station in East Pittsburgh, reports WPXI.
The accident occurred off of Lincoln Highway (U.S. Route 30) shortly before 2:00 a.m.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, an 18-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle, causing it to spin 180 degrees. Moments later, the vehicle’s passenger side struck a gas pump at the station.
Authorities said the teen driver and her three passengers were transported to local hospitals. All occupants sustained injuries believed to be life-threatening.
No information regarding an estimated cost of damages has been reported, but the business had to turn off all gas pumps in the aftermath. The driver has since been issued a citation for speeding.
