News: Construction flagger hurt in hit-and-run crash near south Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, PA — A woman was sent to a hospital Wednesday night after being hit by a vehicle in Pittsburgh’s Overbrook area, according to WPXI.
The incident occurred near Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Library Road (Ivyglen Street). Pittsburgh Police’s Zone 3 officers and EMS personnel were called to the scene just before 9:30 p.m.
Few details have been provided, but authorities said the woman was working as a construction flagger in the area when she was struck.
First responders arrived to find the victim “conscious and alert,” but suffering from pain in one knee. By then, the driver had fled the scene.
The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed, but the woman was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated.
A description of the fleeing vehicle has not been released at this time.
