WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA — At least one person died Friday morning after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Route 22 in Salem Township, according to WPXI.
The fatal collision occurred at Hannastown Road. First responders arrived on the scene shortly after receiving a call about a crash involving entrapment at around 10:15 a.m.
It was unclear what caused the accident, but authorities said a commercial vehicle and a passenger car were involved.
Authorities confirmed at least one person was pronounced deceased.
All westbound lanes of US-22 were shut down in the area, and eastbound traffic was reduced to a single open lane. The closure was expected to stay in place for about two hours. Motorists were urged to find alternate routes.
