News: Elderly woman hit, killed by vehicle while crossing PA-68 in Butler
BUTLER COUNTY, PA — An 84-year-old woman died late Saturday afternoon after a pedestrian crash on Pennsylvania Highway 68 in Butler Township, reports WPXI.
The fatal incident occurred on a span of the highway (Evans City Road) in front of Dollar General. It was reported just before 5:00 p.m.
According to Butler Township Police, the woman was trying to cross the road from the store when she entered the path of a westbound vehicle. Moments later, she was fatally struck.
Authorities said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.
An investigation remains underway.
