PITTSBURGH, PA — Authorities responded to an injury crash early Tuesday involving a Port Authority police vehicle and a pickup truck in downtown Pittsburgh, reports WPXI.
The accident took place at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Grant Street, near the Gulf Tower, at about 2:00 a.m.
While the circumstances of the wreck remain unclear, footage taken by a Channel 11 photographer shows the police vehicle’s airbag was deployed. Responding officers were seen inspecting the pickup before tow crews removed it from the scene.
One person was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. Port Authority police have not confirmed whether the patient is the officer or the pickup truck driver.
