ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A 78-year-old man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing an intersection in McCandless, according to WPXI.
The fatal incident occurred in the area of McKnight Road and Blazier Driver, near Pine Creek Shopping Center. It was first reported at about 10:15 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the man was crossing McKnight Road when he was hit by a black Honda that fled the scene. Town of McCandless Police said they believe the victim was walking home from his shift at the nearby Target.
The black Honda, of unknown model, likely sustained significant damage to its front and passenger side. It is also missing its passenger-side mirror and “a large piece of molding.”
