News: Teen driver killed in crash on I-79 near Franklin Park
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — An 18-year-old Crescent resident died Wednesday night after a crash that hurt another teenager on Interstate 79 in Franklin Park, reports WPXI.
The fatal accident happened just north of the Interstate 279 interchange, just after 10:00 p.m.
Details remain limited, but Pennsylvania State Police said the vehicle appears to have traveled into standing water and hydroplaned. No other vehicles were involved.
The teen driver was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials. He was a student at Moon Area High School.
His passenger, an 18-year-old boy, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital.
