News: Teen passenger dies after rollover crash on PA-65/51 in East Rochester
BEAVER COUNTY, PA — A 15-year-old passenger died early Tuesday after a vehicle overturned on Route 65/51 in East Rochester, according to WPXI.
The fatal crash happened near the intersection with the 17th Street Bridge (East Rochester-Monaca Bridge), shortly after 12:00 a.m. midnight.
Pennsylvania State Police said the rolled vehicle matched the description of a vehicle linked to a “prior felony incident.” Authorities said a 17-year-old was driving the vehicle when they lost control. Moments later, the vehicle hit an embankment and overturned.
The victim, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The driver was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital with “suspected broken bones.”
Part of the highway was closed during the response. By 4:40 a.m., the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened.
