News UPDATE: Woman identified as person killed in I-376 van crash near Monroeville
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — An 84-year-old Romulus woman was the person killed Thursday morning in a crash on Interstate 376 near Monroeville, reports WPXI.
The fatal accident occurred on the eastbound lanes (Parkway East) at Exit 85, near the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) onramp. It was first reported at about 5:40 a.m.
Pennsylvania State Police officials said a passenger van veered out of its lane and lost control. It then hit a guide rail and crashed down an embankment.
The victim, Fannie Stoltzfus, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
It remains unclear whether anyone else was injured. No further information has been made available at this time.
