News: Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in front yard of McKeesport home
ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A 39-year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle during an altercation early Thursday in McKeesport, according to WPXI.
At about 1:16 p.m., McKeesport Police and first responders were dispatched to the scene in the 2600 block of Jenny Lind Street, where they discovered the victim, Misty Lack, in critical condition.
Authorities said a dispute unfolded after a male suspect, Brandon Pendleton, 31, reportedly made physical contact with one of Lack’s children. The incident turned violent when Lack asked Pendleton to leave.
The complaint indicates Lack threw a microwave at Pendleton’s vehicle, causing the rear windshield to shatter. At that point, Pendleton appeared to intentionally drive his car at Lack and two other pedestrians. Lack was struck and carried on the roof of the vehicle across the lawn and then run over, according to investigators.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Pendleton, who fled the scene before authorities arrived, was located shortly after his vehicle was found. He has since been charged with “criminal homicide, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and criminal attempt homicide.” He is being held at Allegheny County Jail as he awaits his arraignment.
