News: Woman hospitalized after garbage truck crashes into Shaler Twp. home

PITTSBURGH, PA – A woman was taken to the hospital after a garbage truck crashed into her home in Shaler Township on Tuesday morning.

According to a report by WPXI, the truck veered off of West Sutter Road at about 9:20 a.m. and crashed through an above-ground pool in the backyard before slamming into the home.

Shaler Twp. Police Chief Tom Frank confirmed that a woman was inside the house at the time of the crash. Her son later said that she was working in her office, which happened to be the same room that the truck struck.

The woman, whose identity is unclear at this time, was taken to an area hospital with a concussion. No updates on her condition are available at this time.
