About Brittany Ussery

Brittany grew up in a working-class community in Southeast Missouri. She is a dedicated advocate
for everyday people and considers it a privilege to help clients navigate the most challenging
moments of their lives.

Brittany received both her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas.
During law school, Brittany worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Stephen J. Ware,
contributing to the publications Principles of Arbitration Law (West Concise Hornbook Series, 2d
ed. 2023) and Judicial Selection That Fails the Separation of Powers, 72 Cath. U. L. Rev. 299
(2023). Brittany was the first recipient of the Raymond Goetz Labor and Employment Award, an
annual award that honors one KU Law graduate for academic achievement in labor and
employment law.

Prior to joining the firm, Brittany practiced at a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm, where
she was counsel for three federal jury trial victories over the span of two years. She has extensive
experience representing individuals in complex employment matters and is known for thoughtful
yet fearless advocacy that consistently drives strong results for her clients.
Brittany is a member of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City and serves
on the executive board of her local county bar association. In her free time, Brittany enjoys being
outdoors, spending time with loved ones, and practicing yoga.
