About Mark Malone
Mark J. Malone is an accomplished attorney with diverse experience in both plaintiff and defense litigation, currently serving as an associate at Chaffin Luhana LLP. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Mr. Malone‘s legal journey began after obtaining his law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
Early in his career, Mr. Malone honed his skills in insurance defense before a significant life change led him to Denver, Colorado. In the Mile High City, he dedicated his practice to handling various personal injury cases, showcasing his exceptional aptitude for litigation. Notably, Mr. Malone achieved a groundbreaking victory against Denver’s largest public transit providers, resulting in a published opinion and pioneering a new angle of liability in the case of Teran v. RTD, 477 P.3d 799 (Colo. App. 2020). Leading the civil litigation department at his previous firm further solidified his reputation as a skillful and strategic legal advocate.
In 2023, drawn back to his roots, Mr. Malone returned to the Pittsburgh area to be closer to his and his wife’s family, bringing with him a wealth of unique experience in handling complex personal injury cases from multiple perspectives.
Throughout his career, Mr. Malone has secured settlements exceeding seven-figures and successfully litigated cases that resulted in six-figure jury awards. Passionate about his work, he finds fulfillment in helping injured individuals reclaim their lives after an accident, embodying the true essence of empathy and dedication in the legal profession.
Beyond his legal prowess, Mr. Malone boasts an exciting athletic background as a former professional hockey player. During his time within the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, including the Wheeling Nailers, he demonstrated his determination and team spirit, values that continue to influence his legal practice. Mr. Malone‘s father and brother both played for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Hockey remains a cherished hobby, alongside his love for golf and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters.
Committed to giving back to the community, Mr. Malone actively serves on the board of the Malone Family Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to nurturing youth hockey and supporting military veteran and first responder hockey associations, reflecting his devotion to making a positive impact beyond the courtroom.
