News: Woman killed, 2 others injured as vehicle hits utility pole in McKeesport

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — The tragedy unfolded Wednesday evening on East 5th Avenue (Pennsylvania Route 148) in northeast McKeesport. Emergency crews were called around 6:15 p.m. after a vehicle slammed into a utility pole.

Victim & Injuries

A 49-year-old woman, later identified as Joanie McCalla, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Two others in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. It remains unclear if the deceased was driving or a passenger.
