Penn Hills DUI crash injury claim follows a December collision that injured several people, including a young child, after one driver is accused of driving under the influence.
When & Where It Happened
The crash occurred on December 15 on Frankstown Road near Erhardt Drive in Penn Hills, shortly before 7:00 p.m.
What Happened
Authorities say a 28-year-old woman driving a Toyota RAV4 was intoxicated when she collided with a Subaru Legacy. Four women and a 4-year-old child in the Subaru suffered injuries. Three women were taken to hospitals, one later sought treatment after the fact. One of the hospitalized remains in the hospital.
Legal Charges
The driver faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, accidents involving death or injury, reckless driving, and DUI. She turned herself in and was booked into Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
Testing & License Status
A toxicology report showed the driver’s blood alcohol level was 0.423%, over five times the legal limit of 0.08%. Tests also showed she had cannabinoids and THC in her system. Authorities said her driver’s license was suspended at the time of the crash.
