Hempfield DUI wrongful death lawsuit begins after a head-on collision late Wednesday afternoon in Hempfield Township that claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman from Franklin Township.
Where & When It Happened
The crash occurred on Arona Road near Middletown Road, just east of Interstate 76. The wreck was first reported at around 4:45 p.m.
Collision Details
A 23-year-old woman from Irwin was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer in the opposing lane when she failed to negotiate a curve. Her SUV veered into oncoming traffic and struck a Kia Sedona driven by the Franklin Township woman.
Victims & Condition
The Franklin Township woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries but declined transport to a hospital. Troopers noted signs of impairment at the scene, although no charges or citations had been announced at that time.
Investigation & Autopsy
An autopsy was expected to take place the following day. Authorities are investigating whether impairment, road conditions, or driver error contributed to the crash.
